I Wander

This poem I wrote in the throes of unrequited love. It’s a hard lesson to learn, not to fall in love with a married man, but unfortunately I have done it more than once in my life. Never to be able to tell or receive any love back is mortifying and it’s so hard to break away without saying a word of your feelings or telling anyone how much you are hurting.

I WANDER

I wander, lonely in the crowd that bustles to and fro. The faces mist before my eyes, there must be one I know.

I wander, lonely in the car and drive along, around. You are there somewhere, I know, but ne’er a trace is found.

I wander, lonely in my thoughts, the memories linger still of moments snatched, brief glimpses caught but these cannot fulfil.

I wander, lonely through the day longing for your touch. If only you were here with me, I need you oh so much.

I wander, lonely in the night. My dreams are all of you, your tender touch, your smiling face, contentment through and through.

I wander, lonely through the years for mine will have to be a love, one sided, never told, for all eternity.

I wander, lonely till I die, living the best I can, loving you and wanting you, alas, a married man.

.. oOo ..
